  1. At Habibah Sweets, we recognize the value of interacting with our stakeholders to build trust, encourage collaboration, and effectively handle their concerns. To identify the key stakeholders, we conducted a thorough stakeholder analysis. This comprises non-governmental organizations (NGOs), community-based organizations (CBOs), employees, workers, suppliers, and regulatory bodies. We have created a comprehensive stakeholder engagement plan with specific goals and channels of communication for interacting with every stakeholder group, based on this analysis. In order to make sure that stakeholders’ perspectives are taken into account during the decision-making process and that their needs and expectations are met, our plan incorporates regular channels for communication, consultation, and feedback. Through encouraging open dialogue and deep collaborations with our stakeholders, we aim to create shared value, drive innovation, and enhance our overall social and environmental performance.

ISO 45001

Obtaining accreditation for ISO 45001, the international standard for occupational health and safety management systems, in 2018 marked a noteworthy accomplishment for Habibah Sweets. Our dedication to protecting the health, safety, and welfare of our stakeholders and employees is demonstrated by this accreditation. We have developed strong processes and procedures to recognize and reduce risks to occupational health and safety, foster a safe workplace, and continuously enhance our performance in these areas by putting ISO 45001 into practice. This achievement strengthens our reputation as a responsible and ethical company and demonstrates our commitment to maintaining the highest standards of occupational health and safety management.

Switchmed Project

Habibah Sweets is committed to environmental sustainability and has actively participated in the Switchmed project to reduce its environmental footprint. Through these efforts, Habibah Sweets has achieved significant reductions in pollution across various aspects of its operations. Specifically, the company has successfully reduced carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions by 124.1 tons in 2018, representing a significant milestone in our sustainability efforts. Also, we have achieved a reduction of 59.2 tons, which accounts for 22% of CO2 emissions in 2023, demonstrating our dedication to combating climate change and minimizing greenhouse gas emissions. In addition to addressing air pollution, Habibah Sweets has demonstrated significant advancements in waste management, achieving a reduction of 29.2 tons of solid waste in 2018 according to Switchmed report. Furthermore, in 2023, the company further increased its efforts, reducing an additional 12 tons of solid waste, building upon the initial reduction achieved in 2018. Also, Habibah Sweets has implemented sustainable practices within its operations, such as using reusable trays and ensuring that 99% of the boxes used are recycled and 100% are recyclable. This commitment to sustainability underscores Habibah Sweets’ proactive approach to environmental stewardship and its ongoing efforts to promote a greener and more sustainable planet.

Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

SDG number 5- Gender Equality

At Habibah Sweets, we are committed to promoting gender equality and empowering women in the workplace and beyond, aligning with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) number 5. To achieve this, we have implemented various procedures aimed at closing the gender pay gap and ensuring equal opportunities for all employees. SDG number 12- Responsible Production and Consumption

Habibah Sweets is dedicated to advancing responsible production and consumption practices, in alignment with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) number 12. Our commitment to sustainability drives us to reduce our environmental impact and promote sustainable resource management across our operations. To achieve this, we have implemented a variety of actions aimed at reducing resource consumption, promoting circular economy principles, minimizing waste generation, and engaging stakeholders in our sustainability efforts.

 

To reduce resource consumption, we have adopted energy-efficient technologies and optimized our production processes, resulting in significant reductions in water and energy usage. We also focus on minimizing the use of raw materials in our manufacturing processes to further decrease our environmental footprint.

In line with circular economy principles, we design our products and packaging with reuse, recycling, and remanufacturing in mind. Through recycling programs, we contribute to reducing waste.

Moreover, we actively engage with stakeholders, including suppliers, customers, industry peers, and civil society organizations. By collaborating with these partners, we identify sustainability challenges and opportunities, share best practices, and collectively drive action towards sustainable production and consumption.
